The Contrabass Chimes provide your outdoor playground with an attractive architectural element along with hours of entertaining fun for children! The chimes, which are crafted with steel powder-coated support poles, anodized aluminum chimes, and stainless steel hardware, are arranged in an octave below C major to create deep resonant tones similar to a gong. The set includes seven chimes and two mallet poles. The chimes are numbered from longest (#1) to shortest (#7), and each mallet pole holds two mallets that are attached with steel cables. It is recommended to arrange the chimes in an arc formation to evoke a surround sound effect; however, they can also be placed in an alternate fashion like a wave or a straight line. Installation of the chimes can be in-ground or surface mounted, and the spacing between chimes and mallet poles must be 18 inches between each chime and 11 inches between each mallet pole and chime.
